About Us
President's Welcome
Dear Valued Customer,
We are pleased to announce the merger of The First National Bank of Litchfield with and into Union Savings Bank, which took place on Wednesday, April 7th.
Together, our banks boast over 340 years of collective banking experience and both institutions have deep-rooted traditions of helping our customers and communities grow and thrive. We view this transaction as a natural progression which will eventually offer The First National Bank of Litchfield and Union Savings Bank customers access to enhanced financial services within a broader geography, while preserving the legacy of community banking in western Connecticut.
As a state chartered mutual bank, Union Savings operates independently of shareholder interest. Our mission calls on us to build lasting relationships within our communities, wisely manage the risks that are inherent in our business, provide customers with exemplary customer service experiences and foster a supportive workplace environment for our employees. We are more than a bank. We are a forward-thinking institution of trustworthy, dependable advisors unified by our tradition of helping customers and communities to financially grow and prosper.
FNBL customers won’t notice many changes at first. In fact, we will continue running two separate banks until a full system conversion takes place toward the end of the year. Joe Greco will remain an integral part of the Bank. As regional president for the former FNBL franchise, Joe will provide day-to-day leadership and support focused on customer retention, community outreach and new business development as well as participate as a steering committee member for the conversion.
Although legally, signage will need to change beginning April 8th, you should continue banking as you normally do at the branch locations you are accustomed to visiting and via fnbl.com. It is important to note that until conversion occurs, former FNBL customers will not be able to make transactions at all Union Savings Bank locations; you should continue to do your banking at former FNBL branch locations.
We are pleased to tell you that you will be able to make withdrawals from any Union Savings Bank ATM without incurring service fees right away. That means you have access to your money 24/7/365 at an additional 19 ATM locations beginning April 8th. Once both operating systems are fully integrated you will be able to enjoy the convenience of conducting all of your banking transactions at any one of the 28 Union Savings Bank branch offices located throughout western Connecticut.
Please take some time to read the Customer FAQs by clicking the link at the bottom of the fnbl.com homepage. They are intended to answer questions you may have about the merger and include a map showing the current FNBL locations and the USB locations where you can find free ATM access. You are also welcome to contact us at 866-372-6916 with additional questions Monday – Saturday during normal business hours.
The next few months will be a time of transition for all of us. We are working hard to ensure that our customers feel as little impact as possible as a result of the merger and eventual systems conversion. We will keep you informed of any important changes well in advance so be sure to open all mail correspondence from Union Savings Bank over the next several months.
Thank you for your loyal patronage. We appreciate your business and look forward to continuing the great service provided to you over the years by FNBL.
